Kingdom Age: Transition from Church to Kingdom

The church is now sometimes seen as in a transition from a focus on institutional practices to an understanding that emphasizes living in alignment with God’s kingdom. Lets break it down here:

1. Purpose Shift: The church's mission broadens from merely gathering believers for worship to actively living out and manifesting the principles of the Kingdom of God in daily life.

2. Empowerment of Believers: There is an increased emphasis on empowering all believers to participate in kingdom work, rather than relying solely on church leaders.

3. Social Impact and Justice: The focus is on justice, mercy, and social action, reflecting the values of the Kingdom of God.

Check out the supporting Scriptures

1. Matthew 6:10 “Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.”

This verse expresses the desire for God's kingdom to manifest on Earth, indicating a transition from earthly institutions to God's divine governance.

2. Matthew 28:19-20 “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations…”

The Great Commission emphasizes the church's mission to impact all nations, ensuring that the values of God’s kingdom are carried out globally.

3. Luke 17:20-21 “The kingdom of God is within you.”

This verse emphasizes that the Kingdom is not merely a future event but a present reality within believers.

4. John 14:12 “Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever believes in me will also do the works that I do…”

This highlights that believers are called to continue the work of Christ, reflecting the active role of the church in the manifestation of the Kingdom.

5. Romans 14:17 “For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking but of righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.”

This passage illustrates the nature of the Kingdom, which is characterized by moral and spiritual values rather than mere external rituals.

6. Revelation 11:15 “The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Christ…”

This verse points to the ultimate fulfillment of God's Kingdom as it comes to reign over all of creation.

So in Conclusion:

The transition from a church-centric view to a kingdom-focused understanding involves recognizing the comprehensive nature of God's Kingdom and actively participating in its advance. This shift encourages believers to live out their faith in practical and transformative ways.
